NICOLE ROBERTS
JONES, MSW is the Founder
and Chief Executive Officer of Imani Corporation. Mrs. Roberts Jones has over (10)
ten years experience in nonprofit management,
has worked with at-risk youth for over 15 years and also has experience
developing programs and securing funding opportunities in non-profit,
faith based and school based settings. Nicole has been a part time
lecturer in the University of Southern California (USC) School
of Social Work, the Boston University School of Social Work and is a founding member of the Faith Based Office
Collaborative Council which is a partnership between the California
Council of Churches and the Department of Public Social Services
that was established to help faith based organizations build their
programmatic and funding capacity. She is also a 2007 Best of You
Award Recipient by Glamour Magazine. Mrs. Roberts Jones holds a Master of
Social Work Degree from University of Southern California (USC).
Mrs. Roberts Jones is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Co-Chair
REV. NAJUMA SMITH
is the Pastor of St James AME church in Los Angeles and is
certain that her ministries focus is on inner-city youth and
young adults. In 1997, after having spent nine years as an
active lay member at First AME Church (FAME), Los Angeles she
joined the Ministerial staff of FAME, under the fathering
guidance and love of then Pastor, Rev., Dr. Cecil L. “Chip”
Murray. Her first ten years of ministry have been a spiritually
growing time in which Najuma has been able to preach nationally
and internationally in Spain and Israel; speak at various
conferences, participate in community panel discussions, and
network with some of the countries greatest ministers,
politicians and entertainers. In May of 2006, she was a guest
speaker at Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, MD, which aired
nationwide on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Najuma has a
Bachelors of Science in Management from Pepperdine University,
a Bachelors of Theology, from Southern California School of
Ministry and a Master of Business Administration from Woodbury
University. Stay tuned for her first book to be released in the
summer of 2007, Single Saved – There has got to be more than
this??

Chief Financial Officer
TERRINA SCOTT,
is currently a Meeting and Event Professional for the Los Angeles
County Bar Association. Over the past 10 years Terrina has worked
in various capacities of the meeting and event professional
industry. She was a Catering Sales Manager for Starwood Hotels &
Resorts specifically working with the Sheraton & Westin brands and
Special Events Sales Manager for the House of Blues Sunset. Terrina
continues her passion of events through Minor Details Productions, a
Los Angeles based event Production Company where she is founder and
managing partner. Terrina and her partners have been in business
for over three years and continue to find new and innovative ways to
produce events. Prior to joining the distinguished board of
directors for Imani Corporation Terrina was a volunteer for
Maximize, Imani’s largest fundraising project for two years and then
went on to successfully produce the event for Imani. Terrina holds a
culinary and bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University in
Rhode Island, serves on the alumni leadership committee for Johnson
& Wales- Los Angeles Chapter, is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated, a member of NAWBO (National Association of
Women Business Owners), and a board member of the 74th
Street Gifted and Talented Magnet Parent Teach Association. Terrina
lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son. |

Secretary
ERIKA MILLER, MA is
Transfer Center
Coordinator /Counselor at Los Angeles Southwest
College. She assists students in developing programs of study which will
help them in attaining their educational goals. Prior, Ms. Miller served
as an educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Ms. Miller
has taught on the middle school, high school, and college level for eleven
years. She brings her unique experience of classroom teaching and college
level guidance counseling to her love of writing as she is currently working
on her first novel. Ms. Miller holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. |

NICHOL WHITEMAN
is an Associate
Vice President with the Jackie Robinson Foundation. In this role she
manages the Western Region Office of the Foundation, based in Los
Angeles, with
responsibility for enhancing
visibility and funding for the organization with a concentration
on the West Coast. Additionally, Nichol works to increase the number
of scholarship recipients for the organization. Prior to her current
non-profit work, Nichol served as Group Circulation Sales Director
of BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine. In this position, she was responsible
for generating over $500,000 in revenue annually, selling bulk
subscriptions to national organizations. Mrs. Whiteman has also
served as Manager of Sales Promotions and Merchandising for Essence
Magazine, where she created customized added value and merchandising
programs for advertisers. Over the course of her career, Mrs.
Whiteman has held notable positions in both the financial and
publishing industries such as J.P. Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and
Wachovia Bank to name a few. A native of Brooklyn, NY, she earned a
Bachelor’s degree in economics, with a minor in management &
organization, from Spelman College. A recipient of the Spelman Class
of 1998 Businesswoman of the Year Award, she currently serves on the
Corporate Round Table for the National Dental Association as well as
her board membership with Imani Corporation. Mrs. Whiteman is an
alum of the United Negro College Fund, Jackie Robinson Foundation, A
Better Chance, and the LEAD Program in Business. Mrs. Whiteman
currently resides in Los Angeles, California with her husband and
two children.

TOWALAME AUSTIN
provides strategic leadership and direction to one of the leading
philanthropic organizations in the nation as President of the Magic
Johnson Foundation. She manages the daily operations and continued
growth of the Foundation by expanding its research base, solidifying
new partnerships, securing corporate sponsorships, coordinating
fundraising initiatives and implementing programs that serve the
educational, health and social needs of ethnically diverse urban
communities. Towalame has played a critical role in establishing and
maintaining partnerships with Abbott, AIDS Healthcare Foundation,
Best Buy, Freddie Mac, Microsoft, Remy Martin and Samsung. She
helped to launch the award-winning,
I Stand with Magic,
campaign to end Black HIV/AIDS in 2006. To date, the campaign has
tested over 23,000 people. Towalame spearheads the Foundation’s
commitment to higher education through the Taylor Michael’s
Scholarship program and she also advances the Foundation’s goal of
providing underserved communities with access to technology and
information through The Magic Johnson Community Empowerment
Centers.. She holds a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies
from Cal State University Dominguez Hills. |

MAMIE COLEMAN
is the Vice
President of Music and Production at Fox Broadcasting Company and is
one of the industry's most versatile executives. As a career driven
woman, Mamie boasts experience in both television and music where
she is an integral part in producing and developing innovative
program launches, marketing strategies and image campaigns for the
number one Fox network. In essence, Mamie creates the "sound" of
Fox. She works closely with the TV studios/production companies,
major record labels, recording artists, and agents to secure talent
and production materials for Fox’s award-winning on-air promotional
campaigns. Although having worked in the television business for
over 17 years, Mamie is organically rooted in the medium. Mamie
Coleman was recently recognized as one of the “Top 20 Hottest
Influencers” by the National Urban League’s magazine. In addition
to becoming a board member for Imani Phi Christ, Mamie takes pride
in giving back to her community by serving on the executive board
for Sound Art Music, a non-profit organization that opens the doors
for inner city at risk youth, offering musical lessons from skilled
musicians. Mamie is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
and continues to being an active member for the NAACP, National
Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment,
National Association for Multi-Ethnicity for in Communication and
Fox Diversity. |
