00414 - Social Media And Young People
There are horror stories of young people being bullied, sometimes even groomed by people via social media. When young people experience peer pressure, they are intimidated to look the best and be the smartest and coolest. This puts huge negative pressure on them. They, in turn, feel they need to browse in secret and not tell you about the pressure they face. Proverbs 22:6 says, ‘Train children to live the right way, and when they are old, they will not stray from it.’ (NCV) G

00413 - Never Agree To Deceit
We are called to uphold truth and righteousness, never agreeing to deceit or falsehood. Of course, you can forgive someone who has done it but never agree to participate. Instead, speak truthfully, recognising our shared identity as members of the body of Christ. Not agreeing to deceit means resisting the temptation to participate in or condone dishonesty. Proverbs 12:22 affirms, ‘The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.’ (NIV) As followers

00412 - Doing A Prayer Walk
Many of you know I am a great advocate of prayer walking. By praying around your community, you understand what is happening and what to focus on. Over time crime reduces, and the spiritual atmosphere changes. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages us to ‘pray continually.’ (NIV) Prayer walking is a practical way to put this scripture into action. It allows us to communicate constantly with God as we walk, lifting the needs and concerns of the places and people we encounter. Being o

00411 - Igniting Faith
It takes just three elements to ignite faith in our lives. Reading God’s word, prayer and fellowship with other Christians. Romans 10:17 reveals the key to igniting faith: ‘Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.’ (NIV) Through prayer, we communicate with God, expressing our desires and needs and trusting Him. Praying with unwavering faith and expectation opens the door for God to work mightily in our lives.

00410 - Just One Touch From The King
Matthew 8:3 says, ‘Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing,' he said. 'Be clean!' Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.’ (NIV) This verse illustrates the transformative effect of Jesus' touch. In an instant, the man's life was completely changed as he was healed from a debilitating disease. When we encounter Jesus and allow Him to touch our lives, everything can be transformed. His touch brings healing, restoration, and wholeness. His divine touch

00409 - God Loves You
God's love for us is immeasurable and unfailing, and the Bible provides profound reassurance of His sacrificial love for every person. Nothing, the bible says, can separate us from the love of God. God's love is not based on our performance or worthiness but is rooted in His nature. Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV) declares, ‘But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.’ (NKJV)

00408 - Should Christians Drink Alcohol?
I grew up in a church which taught that no one Christian should drink alcohol. Biblical wisdom suggests that whatever we do, we should do it in moderation. Also, there is medical and legal advice. How many units do you consume daily, and when might you break the law by drinking too much? Romans 14:21 says, ‘It is good [to do the right thing and] not eat meat or drink wine, or do anything that offends your brother and weakens him spiritually.’ (AMP) This verse is a very good s

00407 - We Repair What Your Husband Fixed
It was an advertising slogan for a DIY business; its only customers were the wives of failed ‘DIY experts’. Husbands instinctively feel they were born with God-given abilities to fix things. On the other hand, wives undertake a lesson in grace each time they are presented with the results of their husband's efforts. Of course, a jovial view but often true. Proverbs 21:2 says, ‘Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.’ (ESV). Life is often fu

00406 - Seven Keys To A Long Life
At 99, John Scharffenberg lives a great and healthy life. John is a professor of nutrition; he’s also a committed Christian. He talks about seven key areas of health. 1) don’t smoke, 2) drink less, 3) exercise - be active, 4) have less sugar and meat in your diet, 5) no snacking, 6) watch your blood pressure, and 7) watch your cholesterol. He then says to sort out the first five, and the last two take care of themselves. Proverbs 3:1-2 says, 'My son, do not forget my teaching

00405 - How To Study The Bible
Studying the Bible systematically and contextually is essential. Read passages in their context, considering the historical, cultural, and literary background. Take time to reflect on the meaning of the verses and seek insights from trusted biblical resources. Consider the overarching themes and teachings of Scripture, allowing them to shape your understanding. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be asha

00404 - Overcoming Loneliness
To overcome loneliness, we can seek solace in God's presence. We find strength in His unfailing love by drawing near to God, pouring our hearts out in prayer, and seeking His comfort. Psalm 68:6 provides reassurance: ‘God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.’ (TLB) God is mindful of our loneliness and plans to bring us a sense of belonging and community. He desires to release us from isolation. Actively engaging with others and buildin

00403 - Prayer In Action
We all have people around us who need Jesus. How much time do we give to pray for them? Praying for people by name demonstrates our love for them, showing they are not forgotten or overlooked. It allows us to intercede with heartfelt intentionality, seeking God's grace and mercy for their salvation. We acknowledge their worth in His eyes by calling their names before God. We can ask Him to soften their hearts, remove spiritual blindness, and bring about circumstances that lea

00402 - Simplicity
Keeping prayer simple allows us to connect with God genuinely and sincerely. Keeping prayer simple lets us maintain an authentic and intimate connection with God. We create space for genuine conversation and a deeper communion with Him by stripping away unnecessary complications. We can speak to Him as we would with a close friend, sharing our joys, sorrows, hopes, and fears openly and honestly. Matthew 6:7-8 says, ‘And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the

00401 - Spiritual Gifts - Discerning Of Spirits
The gift of discerning of spirits is an ability given by the Holy Spirit that enables believers to recognise and discern the presence and nature of positive and negative spiritual forces at work. 1 Corinthians 12:10 describes this gift: "To another [is given] the working of miracles, to another prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the decep

00400 - Gardening
Engaging in gardening allows us to find solace and respite amidst the busyness of life. It offers a peaceful retreat as we work with our hands, tend to plants, and witness the growth and beauty of creation. It’s a therapeutic and fulfilling activity that brings contentment to our souls. Genesis 2:15 highlights the responsibility given to us in caring for the garden: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it." (AMP) God's intentio

00399 - Family Salvation
The salvation of our family is a deeply cherished desire, and the Bible offers hope and encouragement to pray. Acts 16:31 says, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, and your entire household.’ (TLB) Faith encourages us to believe in the power of God to work in the lives of our loved ones and bring about their salvation. Cultivate a Christ-centered environment within our homes to pursue family salvation by prioritising prayer, worship, and studying God's Word toge

00398 - Vitamin D
The sun provides numerous benefits to our physical and emotional well-being. Psalm 19:4b-6a says, ‘The sun bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end.’ (NLT) Sunlight is a source of vitamin D, which is crucial for healthy bones, immune function, and mental well-being. Exposure to sunlight stimulates the production of serotonin,

00397 - Bless Your Nearest School
Blessing our local school is a beautiful way to encourage hard-working staff dedicated to our community's future generation. It might be dropping off flowers or chocolates for the staff or offering our time and skills as volunteers. Our willingness to serve can make a significant difference. Proverbs 16:24 says, ‘Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.’ (NLT) This scripture reminds us of the power of our words to speak encouragement, kindness, an

00396 - Research Your Community
Proverbs 14:15 says, ‘Fools will believe anything, but the wise think about what they do.’ (NCV) This scripture encourages us to approach prayer with wisdom and discernment. To better pray for our community, we can research and gain insights into the community's specific challenges, struggles, and needs. What are the needs and the crime rate? Are there known houses that deal drugs? When you start to look at rates of deprivation, you’ll get an understanding of what to pray for

00395 - Faith Will Break Through
Faith has the power to break through barriers and overcome obstacles in our lives, often requiring a miracle to do so. Fear and doubt are the biggest enemies of that. Faith breaks through by removing doubt and fear while embracing God's promises. Faith empowers us to step out in boldness, knowing that God will fulfil His word. 1 John 5:14-15 assures us, ‘This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we kn
