Heatwave

Updated: Jan 25

Putting 108 planet Earths side by side, would equal the width of the Sun. The Sun provides heat and light for us all, even though it’s 93 million miles away!

During a heat wave, Wales (where I live) gets to 28 – 30 degrees which we find unbearable. Yet there are plenty of other countries which see temperatures over 40 degrees. I guess your perspective is shaped by what you are used to.

Earth is uniquely placed in our solar system to produce life. Had Earth been too close or far away from the Sun, it would not sustain life. Psalm 19:1 sums it up The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands’. (NIV).

Thank God for the gift of life that we have on our planet which is held in space by the grace of His heart and the palm of His hand.

Quote To even have heat from the Sun on Earth is an act of God.

Prayer Father, thank you for the incredible relationship between the Sun and Earth, how you made it all and how that sustains us each day, Amen

Action Point When it’s hot, don’t forget to check on your neighbours and also make sure any animals you have are watered and sheltered from the Sun.
