The Seven Mountains Of Influence

Updated: Jan 25

Theologians have for years sought to find the biblical mandate for influencing society. It’s no secret that Christianity has been a guiding light for our family of Nations for centuries, even though these days secularism is eroding that influence.

Romans 13:1 says ‘Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God’.

With that in mind, have you thought about serving one of these seven areas in your community? 1) Education, 2) Religion, 3) Family, 4) Business, 5) Government, 6) Arts/Entertainment, 7) Media. You might decide to be a School Governor, or a local radio presenter, serving one of those areas well and still being a strong Christian there. As you start that journey, know that God will help you and will be with you as you touch the society around you.

Quote Society is shaped by those who stand up and influence it.

Prayer Heavenly Father, grant me favour as I work to serve in one of these areas, Amen.

Action Point If you are interested in influencing any of these areas, do your research first, have a good look at what you might do.
