One of the greatest privileges in life is to input into the life of a Child. An African proverb says it takes a village to raise a child, and that’s probably true. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, godparent, schoolteacher, or coach, highlighting faith in Jesus to them as they grow is very important.
Proverbs 22:6 says, ‘Point your kids in the right direction—when they’re old they won’t be lost’.
Teaching a child how to pray, to read the bible, to involve God in their decision making, is a seed planted that will bear fruit. Even if you come into the child’s life later, showing good judgement, considered answers, that you always have their best interest at heart, will earn you the reward of the right to speak into their life when it matters to them. One timely sentence can often set the direction for their whole future life.
Quote The investment you make in a child will reward them constantly.
Prayer Lord, guide my thoughts, words, deeds, and actions. Let the children in my life know your ways, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
Action point
Even if you are in a rush, when a child asks a question about God, take as much time as you can to answer their curiosity, it will be a stepping stone to their future.
