A Mile With Jesus

Updated: Jan 26

We should think about prayer walking as part of our normal routine as a Christian. To declare and speaking blessing over our street or community is a wonderful spiritual service to those around us.

Proverbs 11:10-11 says, When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed’ (NIV).

It’s a tug of war. If we don’t pray and declare the blessings of God, the enemy will by default drag our community down. We are the ‘spiritual gatekeepers’ as it were of where we live, and to that end, we should work toward God’s presence being felt by all. Take a little prayer walk, a mile with Jesus today. When you do it regularly you will see change, and those neighbours around you will too.

Quote

Blessing your community and soaking it in prayer is a privilege not a hardship.

Prayer

Lord, help me to change the spiritual atmosphere of the community where I live in Jesus Name, Amen.

Action point

If you haven’t done a Prayer Walk in recent weeks, plan to have a prayer walk in the next few days.
