Good Friday

Updated: Feb 13

Only five days before Palm Sunday, Jesus rode a colt (unridden donkey) into Jerusalem. People were waving palms and rejoicing. Yet behind the scenes, there was a growing determination amongst the Pharisees to get rid of the ‘imposter Jesus’ so they could regain control.

Isaiah 53:5 says, ‘But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.’ (NLT)

We know Jesus’s life on earth was to redeem us to God, break the bonds of sin, and defeat satan. No one wants to imagine the suffering Jesus endured that day. Yet, that was his commitment to us. He knew his sacrifice would give all of us the opportunity of eternity with His Father in heaven. No one has sacrificed so much for so many in the profound way Jesus did. Thank you, Lord!

Quote

The devil thought he’d won today - Jesus, however, through His majesty, changed everything back to God forever.

Prayer

Lord, I have no idea the pain you suffered for me; I can only thank you for your sacrifice. Amen.

Action Point

If you haven’t seen the ‘Passion of the Christ’, take a little while to see through the eyes of cinema what happened to Jesus.
