Spiritual Gift: Healing

Updated: Feb 14

Growing up I was taught that the spiritual gifts essentially died out when the apostles did. It was only when I started to do mission trips my view changed. In particular on a trip to Kampala, Uganda. I preached and sensed ladies who were bleeding or had abdominal problems should come forward for prayer. The ladies in our group would then pray for them.

Hundreds came forward and in the days that followed, many of them testified of a heat flowing through the hands of the person praying. The bleeding stopped, and abdominal pain stopped. People were so happy.

James 5:15 says, ‘And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up…’. (NIV) The point is, you’ll never know if you operate in that spiritual gift if you never try to use it. Always take the opportunity to pray for someone.

Quote

Faith requires a possibility to become a probability when we exercise it.

Prayer

Give me the courage to pray for the sick Lord, so that You may be glorified in the healing. Amen.

Action Point

The next time someone says they are sick, offer to pray for healing, you’ll never know what can happen until you step out.
