Gardening

Updated: Feb 17

Engaging in gardening allows us to find solace and respite amidst the busyness of life. It offers a peaceful retreat as we work with our hands, tend to plants, and witness the growth and beauty of creation. It’s a therapeutic and fulfilling activity that brings contentment to our souls.

Genesis 2:15 highlights the responsibility given to us in caring for the garden: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it." (AMP) God's intention was for us to actively nurture and preserve His creation.

As we tend to the earth and witness the blossoming of plants, the produce gardening can provide, fruit, vegetables etc.; we connect with the wonder and intricacy of His handiwork. Gardening becomes a fulfilling and joyful celebration of God's creative power and an opportunity to express gratitude for what He has entrusted us with.

Quote Cultivating a garden has the benefit of relaxing and bringing peace to the soul.

Prayer

Thank You for Your creation, Lord; help me spend a little more time focusing on it. Amen.

Action Point

If your garden needs an overhaul, your mind probably does too. Time to get gardening.
