The Holy of Holies

Described as the sacred dwelling place of God's presence. Hebrews 9:3-4 says, ‘Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.’ (NIV)

The Holy of Holies was the innermost part of the Tabernacle and later the temple, accessible only to the high priest on the Day of Atonement. It symbolised the dwelling place of God's presence among His people.

The Holy of Holies served as a reminder of the holiness and majesty of God. It teaches us the importance of reverence, awe, and seeking His presence. Today, through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, His death and resurrection, God’s presence is now available immediately, as His presence exists in our hearts.

Quote God’s presence is ever with us, isn’t that incredible.

Prayer

Lord, help me grasp the magnitude of Your presence being always with me. Amen
