The Impact Of Anger

Updated: Feb 17

The connection between anger and our physical health is an eye-opener. Proverbs 17:22 (NASB) says, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." This wisdom highlights how deeply our emotional state can affect our well-being.

Anger, for example, can release stress hormones into liver, making it work overtime to filter toxins. Anger can disrupt your stomach, turning digestion into a tumultuous affair. That in turn can affect your kidneys, the body's filtration system, the stress of course putting undue pressure on your heart and brain.

What's clear is that our emotional state isn't just "in our heads." So next time you're grappling with these emotions, remember that letting them fester isn't just bad for your mood; it really affects your health. Acknowledging this can be a catalyst for change, pushing us towards much better health. A joyful heart really can be "good medicine,"
