Peace Like A River

Updated: Feb 18

Isaiah 55:12 (NKJV) says, "For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." It's a vivid portrayal of peace like a river and joy like a mountain.

"Peace like a river" suggests a serene, flowing life, smooth, untroubled, and full of grace. It's an assurance that, regardless of life's ebbs and flows, a deep current of peace runs through the heart of every believer, from the Spirit of God.

Likewise, "joy like a mountain" evokes a mountain's solid, majestic presence, standing firm and unshakeable. This joy stands tall over the landscape of life, a testament to the enduring happiness in a relationship with Christ. Together, peace and joy form an unassailable fortress in the Christian heart, standing against the storms of life.

Quote

When peace and joy are central to life, life itself is full.

Prayer

Father, help me consider the pursuit of peace and joy, in all of my life. Amen.
