Being Creative In Prayer

Updated: Feb 18

Being creative in prayer isn’t often discussed, but it can be refreshing and enriching. Romans 8:26 (TLB) says, "And in the same way—by our faith—the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don't even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words."

Creativity in prayer might focus on painting, music, dance, journal writing, photography or digital art. We are creative beings, so let the creativity in prayer arise. So long as you see prayer through it, it’s fine.

It can also involve nature, prayer walking through a park or garden, and using the beauty of the surroundings as inspiration. It’s about opening up to the creativity God gave us. Your soul can engage in the language of creativity.

Quote

Pray allows us to talk to God, creativity beyond that is infinite.

Prayer

Father, thank You, that I can pray creatively, inspire me as I pray. Amen.

Action Point

Try it. Paint a picture as you pray, let the inspiration of prayer guide you.
