Conferences

Updated: Feb 18

Attending Christian conferences can be tremendously uplifting, offering fellowship, passionate teaching and worship. Hebrews 5:12 (ESV) reminds us though, "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food," suggesting that there comes a time to move from learning to doing, from absorbing to teaching.

The cycle of attending conferences can become an end in itself, a sort of spiritual high that we chase, detracting from our core mission – to share the good news of Jesus with others.

So strike a balance, ensuring that we don't become 'conference junkies' who are always learning but never applying anything. After all, the ultimate measure of our faith is not found in how many conferences we attend but in how we live out Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations.

Quote

Remember, our primary focus should be making disciples of others.

Prayer

Lord, help me put into practice what I have already learned about you. Amen.

Action Point

Finding a balance between your input and output is key. When was the last time you led someone to God?
