Death Doesn’t Make An Appointment

Death, the great equaliser, is indeed the one certainty that every person, rich or poor, strong or weak, must face. If often comes with a sense of apprehension. However, for Christians, death is viewed differently. Paul's words in Philippians 1:21 (NKJV), say, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain,”.

The longing for heaven is rooted in the Christian belief that life on earth is a temporary journey in preparation for our eternal home with God. Death becomes a doorway to a new, immortal life where pain, sorrow, and suffering are no more. 

Death, then, is not something to be feared but a journey to eternal joy and peace. This perspective encourages us to live life fully, with an understanding of its temporary nature, and to cherish the hope of heaven, where the trials of this world fade into insignificance of the presence of God.

Our time here is just a blink of God’s eye compared to eternity.

Prayer

Lord, calm my fears, I pray. Help me when it’s time to long for an eternity with You. Amen.

Remember you can’t take anything with you, so be generous with what you have, while you have time.
