70 x 7

Updated: Feb 20

In our Christian journey, forgiveness is not just a recommendation but a mandate reflecting the heart of the gospel. Jesus, in Matthew 18:22 (GNT), responds to Peter's inquiry about forgiveness by saying, "No, not seven times," Jesus replied, "but seventy times seven." It is a metaphor for an unlimited amount of times, illustrating the boundless nature of forgiveness that we are called to extend to others, mirroring God's infinite mercy towards us.

Embracing forgiveness requires God’s assistance and a heart transformed by the Holy Spirit. We view others through the lens of grace and understand that we, too, need to forgive.

By forgiving as we have been forgiven, we embody Christ's love and compassion, setting a powerful example for the world to see. Make forgiveness a defining characteristic of your walk with Christ and continually reflect His grace and mercy in your interactions with others. That’s what Jesus did!
