The Influence Of Music

Updated: Feb 21

Music has been integral to Christian worship throughout history, profoundly affecting our emotions and drawing us closer to the divine. Psalm 95:1 (NIV) says: "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation." Here, the psalmist invites us to use music to celebrate and connect with God.

Johann Sebastian Bach was a composer whose works are revered for their musical complexity and deep spiritual content. Bach famously said, "The aim and final end of all music should be the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."

Whether created by Bach or other talented composers, music uplifts our spirits and attunes our hearts to the divine. Music, in its most sacred form, acts not merely as background noise but as a dynamic, living testimony of our faith, capable of moving the human heart toward God in profound ways.
