Books Of The Bible : Ruth

Updated: Feb 21

The story revolves around Ruth, a Moabite widow, who chooses to stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, despite the uncertainty of their future.

Ruth's faith is beautifully articulated in Ruth 2:12 (NASB), where Boaz, her future husband, blesses her by saying, "May the Lord reward your work, and your wages be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge." This verse highlights the protective, nurturing aspect of God that Ruth experiences firsthand, reinforcing her faith through the kindness shown by Boaz, a servant of God.

Through her example, we learn that faith involves stepping into the unknown with the assurance that God's guidance is sufficient and redemptive. Ruth's journey from a foreigner to a critical figure in the lineage of David, and ultimately Jesus, illustrates how faith can transform a journey of personal hardship into a legacy of hope and blessing.

Quote

Sometimes, you have to trust God with your future.

Prayer

Thank You so much, Father, for this testament of Ruth’s faith journey. Amen.

Action Point

Ruth is quite a short book in the Bible; consider reading it through.
