A View Of Ageing

Updated: Feb 21

Ageing is an inevitable part of life, marked by the experiences and wisdom we accumulate. However, growing old does not inherently mean we grow up in the ways that indeed count—especially in wisdom and maturity. 1 Corinthians 13:11 (MSG), says: "When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good."

The accurate measure of our years should be seen in how well we mentor, guide, and uplift the younger generations, embodying the principles of love and wisdom we’ve learned from God.

By fostering a community where knowledge and faith are passed down through the generations, we contribute to a legacy that outlives our physical presence. In this way, ageing becomes an ongoing testimony to the lifelong journey of faith and personal growth, celebrated and shared within our existing and extended community.

Would you be prepared to sit and pray with someone from the younger generation?
