A teachable heart means being open to learning, correction, and God’s guidance, even when uncomfortable. Proverbs 9:9 (NKJV) says, “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” This highlights the importance of maintaining a humble attitude and always being ready to receive wisdom.
To maintain a teachable heart, remaining humble and recognising that we don’t have all the answers is crucial to growth. Regularly reading God’s Word, praying, and listening to the counsel of others helps us stay open to new insights and directions. Being teachable means being willing to change when God shows us a better way.
Cultivating a teachable spirit involves reflecting on feedback and life’s lessons, seeing them as opportunities for growth rather than criticism. When we stay teachable, we align ourselves with God’s will and continue growing in wisdom and faith.
