01479 - Rock Of Ages

Consider the enduring power of the hymn Rock of Ages, written by Augustus Toplady. Its words were born from a deep awareness of human need and of finding refuge in God. The image of Christ as the Rock speaks of protection and grace that cannot be shaken. It invites you to rest not in your own effort, but in His finished work.

Let the meaning settle in your heart. The hymn reminds you that salvation is not earned through striving. It is received through surrender. When you hide yourself in Christ, you find covering, forgiveness, and strength. This truth speaks just as clearly today, calling you away from self-reliance into complete trust in Him.

Scripture says, “He only is my rock and my salvation He is my defense I shall not be greatly moved” (Psalm 62:2 NKJV). This is the foundation that holds firm. In Him, you are secure.

Quote

Christ the Rock is your unshakable refuge.

Prayer

Lord, help me rest fully in You as my Rock and my salvation. Amen.

Action Point

Reflect today on what it means to trust Christ as your firm foundation.
