01524 - Getting Your Own Way

Not every desire to stand your ground is completely wrong. There are moments when God calls you to hold firmly to truth, wisdom, and healthy boundaries even when others disagree. Jesus Himself stood with courage when confronting injustice, hypocrisy, and anything that opposed the Father’s will.

The heart matters deeply in these moments. Wanting your own way for pride, control, or recognition leads toward conflict and emptiness. Yet standing firm for what is righteous, loving, and wise can protect both your life and the lives of others. God does not call His people to become passive or voiceless. He calls them to walk in humility while remaining anchored in truth.

Scripture says, “Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants” (Ephesians 5:17 MSG). Wisdom helps you discern when to yield and when to stand firm. A surrendered heart can still carry conviction, courage, and clarity.
