01612 - Bible Statistics
Numbers can make you stop and think. The Bible contains 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,101 verses, and traditionally counted totals of 783,137 words. Yet Scripture is more than an impressive collection of statistics. Behind every page stands the living God, revealing His character, His purposes, His redemption, and His invitation to believe.
Consider the scale. Traditional Bible statistics identify 1,260 promises, 6,468 commands, more than 8,000 predictions, and 3,294 questions. These figures remind us that Scripture speaks into every dimension of life. God promises, commands, warns, questions, comforts, corrects, and calls. Do not merely count words. Let the words count within you.
Psalm 119:160 (CSB) says, “The entirety of your word is truth, each of your righteous judgments endures forever.” Statistics may demonstrate the Bible's scope, but transformation comes when its truth enters your heart. Read expectantly. Listen prayerfully. Obey courageously. God's ancient Word still speaks with authority today.
