Having adopted two young children, we’ve had first hand experience of the impact and transition it takes for children to let go of what they think they know and embrace love fully, sometimes for the first time. Matthew 18:5 says ‘And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me’. (NIV)
We all have developed lifestyles which have been formed from the circumstance of our grow, the influence of the environment around us. Children learn quickly what is right and what is best, they then surrender their fight when love takes them on a journey to trust, for life.
Being adopted into the Kingdom of God is similar. It takes a while to accept that the life we have been living might not yet at it’s full potential, we need to learn to embrace God’s love and freedom in Faith to know He is truly our eternal Father.
Quote We are adopted into an eternal family, through Faith in Jesus.
Prayer
Lord, help me learn how to accept you as Father, teach me your ways Lord, Amen.
Action Point A fascinating book which talks of the journey of Jesus through time is the Miracle of the Scarlet Thread, google it, it’s an awesome read.
