Faith Over Fear

Updated: Jan 28

We live life in a society that is full of fear, fear at every turn, whether climate change, coronavirus, the stock market, terrorism, weather events or wars in other countries. There’s always something to worry about.

Yet, Isaiah 35:4 says ‘Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”’ (ESV).

Most of the things we worry about are beyond our ability to fix, so we must find rest within them and, that’s where our faith lays. Putting a stronger mind of trust in God than we put in issues we can’t fix, will bring us peace, will lead to better sleep and will give us a more positive outlook. Let’s be honest, knowing that the creator of the universe walks with us through life journey, isn’t bad is it!

Quote Pray more if fear grips your heart more than the love of God does.

Prayer Lord, I am so thankful that you are with me, helping me, and giving me the ability to live in faith and peace, Amen.

Action Point When fear shouts louder than faith, make sure you know the difference between what you can and cannot fix. If you can’t practically fix the problem, you contribute in faith to pray and leave the rest to God.
