Gentleness

Gentleness is not weakness. In fact, it takes far more strength to be gentle than to react harshly in any circumstance. A soft answer calms more storms than a loud voice ever will. Gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit and a clear mark of Christ’s life within us. The Bible teaches us, “Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (Colossians 3:13, TLB).

Gentleness allows others to feel safe in our presence. It creates space for healing, reconciliation, and trust. In a world that often celebrates aggression, gentleness is very different. Jesus modelled it perfectly — welcoming children, touching lepers, speaking life to the broken.

When we choose gentleness, we reflect the heart of the Father. Let your strength today be clothed in calmness. There is great power in the soft-spoken word to lift people up around you.

Quote
