Honouring The Sabbath

Honouring the Sabbath is trusting in a world that rewards constant motion. It is choosing to stop, not because everything is finished, but because God is faithful. When we rest, we declare that our lives are held by grace, not driven by pressure. The Sabbath reminds us that we are human beings, not human doings, and that our worth is not measured by output.
There is power in stopping. When we honour the Sabbath, we resist the lie that says everything depends on us. Rest recalibrates the soul, sharpens our hearing, and restores joy. God meets us in rest with clarity and peace. What looks unproductive to the world becomes deeply fruitful in the Spirit.
Scripture says, “The Sabbath was made to serve us; we weren’t made to serve the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27 MSG). Sabbath is a gift, not a burden. Receive it gladly and let rest become reality.
