Only Do It Once

Mistakes are part of life, but wisdom comes when we refuse to repeat them. Every wrong turn, every poor choice, carries a lesson that can guide us forward if we are willing to learn from them. The danger lies not in falling, but in falling the same way twice. Growth begins when we allow God to teach us through our failures and refine our decisions through His truth.
The wise heart listens, reflects, and adjusts. When we invite the Holy Spirit into our decision-making, He helps us recognise patterns that lead to harm and replaces them with patterns that bring peace. Even our worst moments can become stepping stones if we let grace turn them into growth.
Scripture reminds us, “The Lord guides people in the way they should go and protects those who please him” (Psalm 37:23 GNT). God’s guidance ensures that mistakes become lessons, not life sentences.
Quote
A mistake unlearned becomes a habit; a mistake learned becomes wisdom.
Prayer
Lord, help me to learn quickly from my mistakes and walk wisely in Your ways. Amen.
Action Point
Reflect today on one past mistake and think about what God taught you through it.
