Overcoming Misery

Misery often begins in the mind before it takes root in the heart. That’s the way life is. Life may present challenges, but dwelling in sorrow is a decision we must confront and change. Each day, we face choices that either lead us closer to peace or pull us further into despair. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2 NKJV). That is not only an encouragement, but a command to think differently.
Overcoming and ultimately renewal begin with responsibility. When we acknowledge that we are not powerless, we open the door to joy. We cannot always change our circumstances, but we can always change our response. Faith reminds us that God has already prepared a way out, but it is our step forward that activates it.
Today, choose better thoughts. Choose the promises of God over the lies of defeat. Choose life.
