Reading The Bible In Context

This devotional aims is keeping building faith, through encouragement, inspiration and teaching. It will never replace the Bible and will always promote a scripture. Psalm 119:105 says ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path’. (NIV)

When we read the Bible, always try to read around the whole verse mentioned, it will give you context of what was going on at the time in the situation outlined. The new testament in particular is good because Matthew, Mark, Luke and John often wrote of the same circumstance, but from their perspective.

For sure, stumbling up one scripture might lift you up for a moment, reading the whole chapter might keep you going for a week. Let the most published book in the world (the Bible) be the light that guides us through life as we read around the verse we see to give proper context.
