To serve the poor is to touch the very heart of God. God knows their every need. When we stretch out our hands to those in want, we are not merely performing a duty but demonstrating the compassion of Christ. Our service becomes a testimony that His love is alive in us.
The poor are not a problem to be solved but people to be embraced with dignity and grace. Jesus identified Himself with the hungry, the thirsty, and the stranger, reminding us that in serving them, we are serving Him. True greatness in the kingdom is not measured by position but by how we love and care for those society overlooks.
The Bible clearly declares, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed” (Proverbs 19:17 AMP). To serve the poor is to partner with God’s own heart.
