The Extra Mile

The extra mile may not always be noticed by others—but it is always seen by God. That extra bit of kindness, an extra hour of service, or the choice to give your best effort, even when it costs, can make a lasting impact. It might bless someone’s day, open a heart to God, or strengthen your own character. The Kingdom of God is built by ordinary people doing extraordinary things through simple acts of faithfulness.
Matthew 5:41 says, “And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles” (ESV). Jesus calls us beyond the bare minimum—He calls us to live generously, with purpose and love. The second mile is where hearts are softened, burdens are lifted, and lives are changed.
Choose today to go further than expected. You never know how far that extra step will carry someone—or yourself—toward God’s purposes.
Quote
The second mile is where miracles begin.
Prayer
Lord, help me to go beyond what’s expected and serve with a willing, joyful heart. Amen.
Action Point
Find one opportunity today to go the extra mile for someone—big or small, do it with love.
