Too Much Of Anything Is Not Good

In life, even good things, when taken to excess, can lose their benefit, focus and blessing. Too much food dulls the body; too much leisure steals the body from exercise; even too much work without rest fractures the soul. God calls us to live with balance, anchored in wisdom. Freedom isn’t found in overindulgence but in Spirit-led self-control, allowing everything its rightful place under Christ’s Lordship.
Proverbs 25:16 wisely reminds us, “If you find honey, eat only what you need; otherwise, you’ll get sick from it and vomit” (CSV). Honey is sweet—a gift. But when taken without discernment, it harms rather than helps. The same principle applies to every area of life. God’s wisdom teaches us to receive His blessings with gratitude, moderation, and awareness.
Ask the Lord today to help you steward all that He gives, enjoying life fully, but always within the rhythm of His grace.
