Practising Rest

We practise rest when we choose to stop striving and allow God to carry what we cannot, trusting Him with everything. In a busy world, rest feels countercultural, yet it is deeply spiritual. When we pause, we confess that God is God and we are not. Rest realigns the heart and quiets the noise that clouds discernment.
Practising rest means creating holy margins. It can look like unhurried prayer, a walk without urgency, or silence before sleep. Rest trains us to listen again. The Spirit often speaks most clearly when we are still enough to hear. As we rest, strength returns and perspective widens. God restores more than energy; He restores courage and joy.
Scripture invites us, “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NKJV). Receive rest as a gift and let it reshape your pace today.
Quote
Rest is trust put into practice.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to rest in You and to release what I was never meant to carry. Amen.
Action Point
Schedule a short, intentional pause today to be still with God.
