For years I’ve put loose change at the end of each day into a jar. These days it’s a top-up savings account linked to my debit card. Usually, to have some extra money to fund Christmas, saving around £600 a year without even missing the money. It just slowly accumulates over time. I’ve recently wondered whether this money should be put into missions? That amount you give to missions could dig a water well for a village; help someone set up a sewing or hairdressing business.

We always tell our son that first impressions count. Turning up on time; the way you shake a hand, whether you say please or thankyou. The Beatitudes are considered to be Jesus’ most famous sermon. This is the eighth Beatitude and focuses us on The Kingdom of Heaven. Men usually think they are DIY experts, even with no experience. The DIY anointing from God (if there was such a thing) is not a spiritual gift. Women tend to doubt any of that self-confidence. 19,345 days after I was born in Neath General Hospital, here I am still going on. Birthdays seem a lot more poignant when you get into the second half of life. George Verwer passed away just after 11 pm on Friday, 14th April. I first met George Verwer about 12 years ago when I attended a conference in Metropolitan Tabernacle (Northern Ireland). I was the ministry director of UCB, so I would often travel around the place to various meetings. We did the usual pleasantries, and then he went up to speak.
